Eugene “Gene” Michael B. De Vera is a Lawyer and a Certified Public Accountant and born in Manila on November 5, 1963 of parents Eufrosino F. de Vera of Sto. Domingo, Ilocos Sur and Edna Bermejo de Vera of Aparri, Cagayan.

 

Now he is a resident of La Colina Subdivision, Barangay Fortune, Marikina City with Monalisa and son Wigi

 

Rep. De Vera spent his elementary years at St. Mary's College, Claret School and St. Patrick School all in Quezon City. He attended his secondary education at Quezon City Science High School from 1976 – 1980. In college, he took up Commerce – Major in Accounting at Letran College-Manila and included in the Dean's List. De Vera pursued further studies and took up Bachelor of Laws at University of Sto. Tomas and Philippine Law School from 1993 – 1998.

 

He has an expansive working experience including enough knowledge in the field  of politics. In 1985, he served as a cost accounting clerk at Four Winds International, Inc. Two years after, in 1987, De Vera was a Budget Examiner, and then as a Legal Staff Officer, at the House of Representatives (Budget Division). He worked his way up from there, this stint lasting up to 2001. In 2004 he served as a Legal Consultant for the Philippine Sports Commission and in 2006 finally put up his own accounting  firm and became a Partner at De Vera Lee and Associates.

 

In the years 2007 to 2009, he was the legal consultant at the House of Representatives Electoral Tribunal (HRET) of the then Congressman Salacnib F. Baterina, likewise, Legal Consultant of the Games & Amusements Board (GAB) of former Chairman Eric R. Buhain. He returned at the House of Representatives being the Chief Political Affairs Officer of Hon. Catalina G. Leonen-Pizarro from 2009-2015.

 

Currently, Atty. EUGENE MICHAEL B. DE VERA, CPA is the Congressman representing ABS Partylist and elected in Plenary as a Deputy Minority Leader
